Bill Paxton
For over almost two decades, Bill Paxton has advised a broad cross section of clients, including corporations, associations, employee groups, and individuals, with strategic communications consulting and advocacy at the local, state, and federal level. Over these years, he has guided clients through a myriad of policy issues, including transportation, water, healthcare, insurance, oil and gas exploration, public procurement, emergency response systems, pension, and domestic manufacturing.
A licensed attorney, Bill has many years of experience in counseling clients through complex issues involving campaign advertising, election and ethics laws. In addition, he has played key roles in the creation, development and implementation of multiple public relations campaigns across Texas.
A Louisiana native and die-hard Tiger fan, Bill earned his bachelor’s degree in history and J.D. degree from Louisiana State University.
Prior to founding The Paxton Firm, he served as Vice President and General Counsel to The Eppstein Group, an award winning, Texas- based public affairs firm. As a member of The Eppstein Group, he played a key role as one of their lobbyists consistently named as one of the top ten lobby teams in Capitol Inside’s “Texas Lobby Power Rankings.”
In addition, he worked for six years at the Texas State Capitol, including as General Counsel for former Texas Lt. Governor and State Senator Bill Ratliff. Bill has also served as Director of Government Relations & Policy for the Federation of State Medical Boards and as Manager of Federal Relations for Dallas Area Rapid Transit where he assisted in securing over $170 million in funding through the Congressional authorization and appropriations process.
Bill and his wife live in Austin, Texas and enjoy an active lifestyle with their two young sons.
